5 Reasons Personal Brand Strategy Matters

personal brand strategy

A personal brand is not just a logo or tagline, it’s the story you tell about yourself! This means the way you present yourself can affect your success. In today’s competitive market, personal branding matters more than ever. If you want to take your success to the next level, here are 5 reasons personal brand strategy matters and explanations on building a personal brand.

Helping You Stand Out

Your personal brand should help your brand stand out from competitors. Personal branding based on authenticity helps show a brand or business’s unique identity. Explaining the skills, achievements, values, and goals of a brand creates a memorable and impactful image. For example, brands have found creative ways to promote on social media by choosing to show “the people behind the brand” content. This allows a business to create the ‘personal’ part of its personal brand! The customer feels included and learns the individual values and goals that make your brand unique, yet relatable to your audience. Through this, we learn that personality, values, and goals are the building blocks to achieving a successful personal brand.

Credibility and Authority In a Personal Brand

Three Ways Elon Musk Built his Personal Brand gives a list of good examples of taking credibility and authority in a business. Not only does Elon Musk have an outstanding work ethic, but he also works tirelessly to make sure all his businesses succeed. Through his passion for freedom of speech and advancing technology, he makes a connection with everyday people who share those same passions. The point of building your personal brand is to showcase your expertise and professionalism. This makes it easier for clients to trust your skills and position in your market. If you can build a strong personal brand, it will give you an advantage over other businesses. That is why social media marketing is transitioning from “high-paid advertising” to “getting to know the people behind the brand.” Building a personal brand that focuses on maintaining trust and connection with your ideal audience will create a foundation of credibility and authority!

Building Trust and Connection

Authenticity is shown to an audience by sharing your brand’s values, passions, and experiences. As your brand showcases honesty, it’s easier to empathize with your audience on a personal level. For example, tell a story that inspired your product or service that solves a common problem that people experience. This type of content shows empathy towards customers, allowing for intentionality to show up in your personal brand. Another way to produce effective content is to educate your audience. There are sources on how to create valuable content for your audience such as The Complete Guide to Personal Branding and its list of prompts. Another way to build trust and a connection is by utilizing authenticity in your video marketing strategy. Short-form video content is the perfect way to convey authenticity and empathy, resulting in a  connection with your audience. If you apply these principles to your personal brand strategy, you can create and retain a loyal following that will help you steadily grow your brand!

Creating a Consistency Across Social Media Platforms

A personal brand should have a unique visual identity as well as voice and tone. A consistent visual brand identity includes the same profile pictures, header images, and color pallet across all social media platforms. This would most likely mean investing in professional brand photography. Additionally, language, writing style, and written social media posts need to remain consistent in voice and tone. It is important to stay focused on a niche or topic to maintain the relevancy of the content to your industry. Cohesive social media platforms are important in creating a memorable personal brand image. Your followers need to know what to expect from you!

Personal Brand Strategy Opens Career Opportunities

By applying all of these strategies you should be able to create a strong personal brand. Doing so will set you apart as an expert in your industry. Engaging content that is authentic and helpful can increase visibility to audiences. This allows you to showcase your work and convince potential customers to invest in your service. A strong personal brand focuses on demonstrating your value and expertise, which in turn will result in more sales and a larger following.

Your personal brand is your greatest asset if you build credibility, trust, and consistency within your marketing strategy. As a result, you will reap the benefits of career opportunities and a reliable client base. If you need help creating a personal brand strategy, contact me for a consultation!

How to Create a Successful Video Marketing Strategy

How to Create a Successful Video Marketing Strategy

how to create a video marketing strategy

According to HubSpot’s studies, social media posts containing a video have 48% more views and 120% more shares than posts without a video. You can connect with your audience and drive engagement by utilizing TikTok, Instagram Reels, Youtube, and live streaming in your social media strategy.

Benefits of Video Marketing

Understanding the primary benefits of video marketing is essential to improve engagement, convey complex information, and enhance SEO and website traction. Videos are more engaging in today’s digital age because the viewer can see the brand’s personality. Brands can tell their story and connect personally with viewers, so it is vital to show up authentically online. Many viewers prefer to learn about a business or product through video, which means video content needs to showcase concise and engaged storytelling. By drawing the viewer in with engaged storytelling, a brand can communicate complex information that viewers more easily understand. Dynamic storytelling and authenticity are what create a personal brand and its success! A brand’s video marketing strategy can make or break its growth.

Types of Video Content

There are a few different types of video marketing content you can create. However, the main five focuses are TikTok, Instagram Reels, Live Streaming, Youtube, and Youtube shorts.

  • TikTok is a social media platform popular for specific video content. The algorithm promotes new creators tailored to the audience’s interests. With the ability for a video to go viral more easily, TikTok is a powerful tool for brands to create engaging content by showcasing products, using visual storytelling, or partnering with influencers.
  • Instagram Reels are a feature on Instagram that allows users to create short-form video content, similar to TikTok. Instagram Reels are a popular way to create short-form, easily shareable video content for a wider audience. Reels also has a feature to share your Reel on the Explore page! Click on the three dots at the bottom of the desired Reel and select the icon“Boost Reel.” Once you click Boost Reel, it will take you through a series of questions on the target goal and audience of the Reel. Once Instagram knows the target goal and audience, choose how long you want the Reel shared on the Explore, Stories, and Feed page! This feature does cost money but is affordable for even small business owners willing to invest in creative ways to promote on Instagram.
  • Youtube is the social media platform for long-form video content. Unlike other social media platforms, youtube allows a brand to explain complex information or showcase services and products without a time limit. Youtube enables brands to use engaged storytelling and show the brand’s authenticity.
  • Youtube Shorts are a feature on Youtube that allows users to create and share short-form video content up to 60 seconds long. The design of the Shorts feature is for easy discoverability on the platform. It is designed similarly to Reels and TikTok.
  • Live Streaming is a type of video content where users can broadcast a live video to an audience in real time. Brands can use live streaming to engage their audience more personally, such as answering questions in Q&A sessions, showing behind-the-scenes content, or giving product demonstrations. The benefits of brands using live streaming are that they create a sense of urgency and exclusivity, which encourages followers to engage with the brand.

3 Tips on Effective Video Marketing Strategy

  1. Set goals: Setting clear goals will help you analyze the success of your video marketing strategy. Determine the main goal you want to reach with your video content. It can be anything from increased brand reach, lead generation, or engagement.
  2. Picking the proper format and platform: Different types of video content work better on different platforms. For example, live streaming is perfect for engagement on platforms like Instagram, while short-form content works well for platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels. To achieve the most out of your content, look at the format and goal of the video content and judge accordingly.
  3. Optimize your videos for SEO: A brand can optimize video content for search engines using SEO. Include relevant keywords and key phrases in your video titles, descriptions, and script to improve your video’s discoverability.

The power of video content on social media is essential for a growing brand. You can reach a wider audience and increase engagement by using different types of video content in your marketing strategies, such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and live streaming. How to use ChatGPT in Social Media Marketing

How to use ChatGPT in Social Media Marketing

ChatGPT in Social Media Marketing

Social media marketing is crucial for any business looking to reach a large audience and build a strong online presence. With the rise of platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest, businesses have access to billions of active users… but managing a social media presence can be time-consuming and overwhelming. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing the tedious workload of digital content, and ChatGPT is leading the way. However, that does not make it a replacement for actual human workers. Weyo’s blog post explains why ChatGPT is powerful, but must be used ethically. By knowing how to ethically use ChatGPT and where you can apply it will change how businesses develop in social media marketing.

High-Quality Content Generation

The most significant benefit of using ChatGPT in social media marketing is its ability to generate high-quality content. ChatGPT can produce a variety of content types including blog posts, social media updates, and product descriptions, all with a natural human-like tone. This allows businesses to save time and effort on content creation while still delivering engaging and informative content to their audience.

Using ChatGPT in Social Media Marketing Trends

One of the most important aspects of social media marketing is staying on top of trends and current events. With ChatGPT businesses can generate content related to trending topics, keeping their brand relevant and engaging with their audience. This feature is especially valuable for businesses in fast-paced industries such as fashion and technology, where staying ahead of the curve is crucial. For example, weddings are a trending topic on Pinterest. You can ask ChatGPT to give a list of related trending topics based on the word “wedding” and ChatGPT will generate a list of specific trending wedding topics such as wedding dresses and wedding hairstyles.

Pinterest Keyword Research

Pinterest is a visually-driven platform that allows businesses to showcase their products and services in an aesthetically pleasing way. ChatGPT can assist with Pinterest keyword research by analyzing user behavior and trending topics on the platform. With this information, ChatGPT can provide businesses with a list of relevant keywords to use in their content, increasing their visibility and reach on the platform. Using ChatGPT for keyword research helps create a ranking pin, which you can read more about in How to Create a Ranking Pin on Pinterest.

Keyword-Heavy Scripts for TikTok

TikTok is one of the most popular social media platforms, and with its unique format, businesses have the opportunity to engage with their audience in a fun and creative way. ChatGPT can assist with this by generating keyword-heavy scripts for TikTok videos. By using relevant keywords, businesses can increase visibility, reach their target audience, and drive engagement with their content. TikTok’s algorithm works by picking on keywords in scripts, screen text, and captions. The best part of TikTok is it is not just a social media platform, but also a search engine that engages visual learners. By using ChatGPT to research relevant keywords on TikTok, it allows businesses to better market towards their target audience.

SEO for Instagram Captions

Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms for businesses, and captions are a crucial part of the content. ChatGPT in social media marketing can help businesses optimize their captions for search engines by using relevant keywords and hashtags. This can increase the visibility of their content, reach their target audience, and drive engagement. The process involves feeding ChatGPT relevant information such as the business’s target audience, product or service offerings, and trending keywords. ChatGPT then generates captions with the right balance of keywords and hashtags, optimizing them for search engines.

The Power of ChatGPT

ChatGPT is revolutionizing social media marketing by providing businesses with a way to save time and effort while still delivering exceptional results. With its ability to generate high-quality content, use keyword-heavy scripts for TikTok, optimize Instagram captions, and assist with Pinterest keyword research, ChatGPT in social media marketing is a game-changer. How to Write a Blog

How to Write a Blog

write a blog

First things first, most blogs you will write in the future of your career will probably be filtered through WordPress. WordPress is free to use, but you pay extra to have customized Search Engine Optimization (SEO) opportunities.

Structuring your Posts (Header 2 or “H2” tag)

GoogleDocs helps out a lot with formatting, and I prefer to write blogs inside of Docs before copy and pasting into WordPress’s posts. You will want to write generally 500-ish words for every blog, sometimes more. There should be a Title, opening paragraph, and two to five sections (with headers of their own). Feel free to create sub-sections within your larger ones to help section out each topic you are writing about.

Keyphrase

The core to every blog is the keyphrase. Generally, a keyphrase will contain two to four words and will pop up within your blog three to five times. Write it within your Title, one of your H2 titles, and a few times within the body of your blog. It’s important to keep in mind that research should generally be done to find the best keyphrase on the topic that you want to write about. This is where SEO comes in – make your keyphrase rank high on Google! This is what people are already searching for on Google, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and even TikTok! Get inspired for the keyphrase by typing in keywords into the search bar, and see what else pops up underneath it.

Inbound and Outbound Links

The goal behind every blog is for the average internet user to be able to find your website, and therefore having the page rank higher in search results. A way to have people jump through different rabbit holes is to include inbound and outbound links. Make sure when you format the post inside of WordPress that all links open within a new tab.

What is an inbound link? An inbound link is a link to your website within the text of your blog. It will relate to whatever you are writing about, and generally will lead people to more information about your product or services. For example, I want people to hire me for digital marketing services. I will talk about different techniques within my blog, then link a couple words to my digital marketing page on my website. Don’t be afraid to use two or more inbound links within each blog you write. Furthermore, for inbound links ONLY, delete all of the link before the forward slash that includes your website URL. For example, instead of http://christianacollective.com/about/, it would just be /about/.

What is an outbound link? An outbound link is a link that connects to another website. This will help the post rank higher on search engines if people already like the content that exists on that website. For example, I really love the tips and tricks that are posted through a few people on LinkedIn. I might mention their name, and share a quote of theirs that is applicable to whatever point I am trying to make.

Search Engine Optimization

This is such an important element of blog writing! Any employer will want to know that you understand what SEO is and how to use it effectively. Most people who work within blog writing use “Yoast SEO,” which is the most popular website plug-in. You will know how well you did by the completion bar beneath the fillable section, either by a red, yellow, or green bar and/or smiley face. Colors are self-explanatory (green is good to go!) Here’s a breakdown of what each section means:

Focus Keyphrase: simply type out the keyphrase you focused on in your blog.

SEO Title: This is what pops up as the blue header when you search in Google. Generally, it’s composed of your Blog Title (which contains your keyphrase), along with possibly another niche keyword or two. For example, I am located in Charleston. If someone is searching for social media marketing in Charleston, SC I am more likely to pop up.

Meta Description: This is the section that highlights what your blog is about on Google search results, right underneath the title. It generally is no longer than two sentences. Make sure to include your keyphrase.

Slug: This is just the extension that your URL has attached to your website and will be auto generated. No need to change it.

Featured Image: To upload your featured image, look to the right hand of the screen. You will “upload featured image” and choose from your media library. Make sure your Alt Text contains your keyphrase. This will assist in search results on Google Images. Not everyone does this, but it helps to have a featured image that is always the same size (I use 1000×667 pixels). This will be the image that appears at the top of your blog along with the Google search results.

Category Check: Found on the right side of page, make sure to check the category(ies) that the post most applies to. If you feel the need to add a new niche category, feel free to do so.

You’re Almost Done Writing a Blog!

Do you have a green smiley face, giving you the go-ahead?! Post your blog! Click on the link to make sure everything has been formatted correctly, and make corrections as needed. At the bottom of the blog within the last paragraph, I always prefer to include some sort of call-to-action if someone needs more help or information about what they just read, then to contact me with an inbound link to my website!

Great job! Now you know how to write a blog!
